The Head of Internal Operations / Business Manager will act as an extension and business partner to the COO, with extensive responsibility for operationally executing across the company and with the senior management team. This requires somebody who is able to operate objectively on data, remaining emotionally neutral.

  • Major Task list. Managing the CEO and COOs priority setting and coordinating delivery, with extensive planning, forecasting and prioritisation.
  • Coordinate information with the CEO and COO. Coordination of regular interaction across multiple teams and relationships.
  • Opportunity assessment. Aligning internal and external requests for CEO and COO time with business objectives, prioritising instinctively.
  • Execute on behalf of CEO and COO. Take specific requests from CEO and COO to identify or intervene and execute them with the senior management team. Chair large meetings to help drive the agenda, working with CEO and COO to help drive agendas in interactions.
  • Proactive management of low priority tasks and incidents. Able to react and handle certain CEO and COO tasks to free up bandwidth, escalating as needed.
  • Improve Effectiveness. Acting as ‘Leadership Performance Analyst’ evaluating the impact of completed tasks and situations and organising feedback regularly to help improve focus. Working with other groups like Company Intelligence and COO office where appropriate to improve processes around CEO.
  • Supporting Management of Executives. Ensuring a proper cadence of interaction maintained between CEO and key Executives. Keeping track of improvement goals for executives on behalf of CEO and COO . Following up and keeping informal oversight over execs.
  • Build decks and interrogate spreadsheets for CEO / COO
  • Prepare leadership teams for events



Competencies

  • Exceptional academic background, ideally in a numerical, scientific or economic discipline
  • Ideally an MBA or comparable capability from commercial experience
  • Worked at a GS /IB or Tier 1 Consulting firm
  • Highly analytical background, comfortable with vast numerical and industry data
  • Astute business acumen and conviction
  • Articulate, deeply thoughtful communicator
  • Innately high levels of emotional intelligence
