As a Senior Data Analyst you will be the owner and driver of our analytics function, evangelizing a data-driven mentality throughout the entire company. You’ll do hands on work building and improving our models, assisting teams on deep dives, educating people on the benefits of data and empowering them to answer their own questions.

Responsibilities

  • Building reusable data pipelines for company-wide use
  • Acting as a partner for other teams at MessageBird in order to increase familiarity with and use of our data, and set a high bar for analytics across the organization
  • Influence business leaders to increase the importance of data in their decision making
  • Evaluating the performance of our go-to-market strategy by analyzing customer funnels and metrics (CAC, LTV, churn, etc.)
  • Creating dashboards and models that allow internal consumers to gain insight into the performance of their functional areas
  • Monitoring the state of the business on a regular basis and providing guidance on changes 
  • Performing deep dives and exploratory analysis with any data that interests you
  • Be a driver of overall MessageBird growth and product strategy by thinking beyond immediate analysis to understand how data could be used differently or new data could inform our approach
  • Build a roadmap for development of our models to improve our understanding of the way our business grows and the levers that drive that growth
  • Sharing your findings and concrete recommendations across the company
  • Growing our analytics function


Requirements

  • BSc degree in a quantitative field
  • 5+ years of work experience analyzing data and deriving insights
  • Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical), including experience in high-level business discussions
  • Highly capable of explaining complex concepts in an understandable way
  • Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with R, Python, or other analysis tools
  • Strong critical reasoning skills, including understanding of common pitfalls of data analysis
  • A proven track record of initiating and delivering actionable analysis


Bonus points

  • PhD in a quantitative field
  • Software engineering experience
  • Familiarity with BI/visualization tools
  • Understanding of SaaS business models
  • Experience with BigQuery, Segment or Looker
